From the Calaca Cultural Center CALACA archives. Back in 2005, we had this event "Hearts for Arts" co-produced by CALACA and Richard Galaviz Jr. in which several bands, DJ.'s and Calaca members were part of some fundraisimg efforts done at the Garcia's del Metro.

Some of the bands that contributed and played at this event were the following: Latino Rebel, Power Drive, Califas, La Famila, Latin Spirit, Reality Band, Gary Romero, Andy Gonzales, Rythm of the Sun, and D.J. Ruben Silva.

After all these years (20 years ago), we still celebrate their contributions to the arts. Special thanls to Richard Galaviz for all his work during that time. Lets keep our Cultural Arts history alive and well.

We will be doing some organizational archival research from our collection and other sources as we reached a milestone since CALACA was founded.

As some of you have noticed, we have not been as active as we would like, but during the progression of our cultural art activities, we have achieved so much, including opening so many doors for Arizona cultural artists.

CALACA will be posting some of what is deemed historical and/or archival, in the following months.

Please keep your eyes open for this.
