Our Unique approach to serving the community
We at Autism Outreach believe that the effective education of individuals with autism is more than just a well written Individualized Education Plan. It takes a holistic approach that often includes assisting families with gaining access to appropriate resources, peer group opportunities for both average and autistic individuals, and a community that
serves to support the social development elemental for a healthy environment. Awareness is key, which is why Autism Outreach seeks to facilitate mentoring relationships through structured peer to peer interaction. We believe this will not only benefit the autism population in critical developmental growth stages, but will offer leadership and volunteer opportunities to the neurotypical community as well, enabling them to gain skill sets working with emotional intelligence, empathy, and enhanced communication skills. These are unique experiences that cannot adequately be taught in a classroom or read in a book. In keeping with a positive community impact, we will expand these services in a conservative fashion, moving from a completely mobile entity toward establishing a quality staffed day respite location for before and after school care, with peer leadership opportunities offered to students as well as the possibility of long term care options. The majority of these services will be funded through proceeds from charities, grants, workshop events and care services.
