Starting next month, I will be getting a storage unit for Blank Walls. This project is an off shoot of Streets of Tempe. Which is about dignity for all.

This project is so vital for those that have lost everything to the streets.

If you have couches, chairs, tables, rugs, curtains, microwaves, curtain rods (I have a few but need more). Dishes, pots and pans, fans, sheets, cleaning supplies. Anything that will give a human a head start in their humanity. Their life. The opportunity at a fresh start.

It takes a lot of work to get off the streets. All dignity and hope needs to be rebuilt. A home is a great start. Not just four Blank Walls.

I know people that get housed and have nothing for years. If lucky, someone has a case manager and they will get a box. That has cheap pots that will need replacing within months. And a blow up mattress with a set of sheets. If they have a service animal (the bed is a gonner). A coffee pot maybe. And a hand vacuum. These are a great stater kit. But without income or a way to raise your income. That is all you will ever have. If you don't have support. Most don't have support or wrap-around services.

So their new start begins to feel like a trap (in four Blank Walls) now more unseen and heard then ever "they were on the streets".

If you have anything to donate. Please let me know. If you would like to volunteer truck pick up. That would be awesome.

No trash please. The homeless have lived amongst trash for to long. What I mean by this is (if the items smells, gonna break, or have bugs). This will just cause them more harm. Make them feel not worth it. If bedbugs are around they will loss their housing and have to pay for the extermination of the bedbugs.

Emergency ask: please share

A complex in Phoenix has stopped taking vouchers (this is common) and man has lost all that was given to him when he moved in.

He has found an apartment here in Tempe. I am looking for home items for him. As he has lost his home and is now back in four Blank Walls.

I have a blow-up mattress. He has his small things but all else has been lost thru this.

If you have a real bed, curtains (I have rods), table, chair, couch or a living room seat. A microwave. He has a TV. It is a small 1 bedroom so he does not need much. Just enough to make him feel your love.

Anything would be welcome. Gently used. The homeless don't need other peoples trash, please. This is all about community and love.

I am currently looking for a space to keep (Gives to the Blank Walls project) but until then. Are you willing to store your (Give) until (New resident) moves in? If yes, please state in your give post. If not, please say so in your post. So I can make arrangements for pickup.

Again, I apologize as this project is a work in progress still. So I am working out some kinks.

If you have a client "that is getting their voucher through the City of Tempe", please let your client know "Blank Walls project" might have some move in items for them. They are welcome to look at on our page.

One can also give of their time. If you would like to serve in that capacity. Will need a truck with movers. As most coming from the streets don't have many (hooked up) contacts to call on. I know that is a big ask. I would like to say only about 100 people get housing from the City of Tempe. So it could be broken down into 3x a year for a few groups?

Thoughts? As we are in this together.

So post a give, photo's of given item, and say if it can be stored until the new resident is housed.
