Warfighter Made's Chenowth Light Strike Vehicle aka "Doom Buggy". This specific LSV operated with the Marines of 1st Force Recon Company in the 90s. Originally a Type 1 VW motor and Buss trans, Warfighter Made converted it to a modern ECOTEC with a Mendeola 4 speed. The rear suspension was also changed from the stock rear torsion bar, with multiple gas shocks, to a Fox coil over, bypass and bump stop set up. The steering was updated with an electric steering assist, and all engine vitals are monitored with AutoMeter Elite gauges. Thanks to the BFGoodrich 35" KR2 tires mounted on Method Race Wheels, not one flat was experienced during the entire six day race. PRP Seats, Baja Design lights and Rugged Radios round out the package. During the 2024 , "Doom Buggy" started 201st out of 2011 vehicles, and on day 2, they moved up to 88th, eventually finishing 1st in class and 11th out of 56 vintage vehicles. The 3rd seat, aka gunner seat, was maned by a dummy who quickly became known as "Burracho Bob" and many times was confused for a real passenger. This pic here, taken by our friend Lisa C. shows retired Navy SEAL Brian T (co-driver), and retired Force Recon Marine Rob B. () finishing day 3 in front of the San Ignacio Mission.
