Meet the third of our four 2026 CalVet Trailblazer Award Honorees, Jesica Davenport ✨

A U.S. Navy Builder veteran who served stateside from 2006-2008, Jesica continues her commitment to service through her work as the Director of Veteran Wellness & Community Engagement with the Military Woman’s Collective.

For 18 years she has supported California veterans by helping them build meaningful connections, reduce isolation, and prioritize their overall wellness. Her work in veteran wellness and engagement has helped veterans feel supported, valued, and empowered within their communities.

From those standing watch tonight to those balancing military service with parenthood, leadership, caregiving, and sacrifice, we see you.

At Military Women’s Collective (MWC), Armed Forces Day is more than recognition. It is a reminder that behind every rank is a human being carrying stories of resilience, purpose, and commitment to something greater than themselves.

To all currently serving Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard service members:
Thank you for continuing to answer the call, even when the path is difficult, exhausting, or uncertain.

Happy Mother’s Day to the women who served, the women still serving, and the women holding down the homefront with strength that rarely gets enough credit.

Today, we honor:
🇺🇸 Women Veterans
🪖 Active Duty Military Moms
💌 Mothers of Service Members
🌻 And the women who may not be biological mothers, but have loved, guided, protected, mentored, and “mommed” the children in their lives.

Motherhood wears many uniforms.
Some carried rucksacks.
Some carried babies.
Some carried both.

To every woman who has shown up with fierce love, steady hands, late-night encouragement, hugs, and battlefield-level resilience…

The “Path of Hope” we are helping create will be a relaxing experience filled with pollinators and butterflies 🦋!

Adventure looks different for everyone… and so does resilience.

Two months post back surgery, one of our MWC Volunteers Staff got back out there and completed a 4 mile hike and a 5 mile hike in the same week.

No rushing the process.
No comparing to anyone else.

Just steady progress, courage, and a willingness to keep going.

We will always support you exactly where you are… but we’ll also ask you to be brave. To take that next step. To push yourself in the ways that help you grow, knowing you’re never doing it alone.

Wherever you are in your journey, keep going.
