Community Safety Update: Making Strides at Temecula Luiseno Elementary!

We were out again this morning with our “Caught With Your Helmet On” initiative, and the results are incredibly encouraging!
After partnering with the students and faculty at Temecula Luiseno Elementary for many years, we are seeing a significant rise in helmet compliance and general bike safety awareness. It’s a testament to what happens when education and positive reinforcement go hand-in-hand.
Why it matters:
• Safety First: Helmets are the most effective way to prevent head injuries.
• Consistency: Long-term programs help normalize safety gear for every single ride.
• Community Pride: Seeing our local students take responsibility for their safety is a win for the whole valley.
A huge thank you to the parents, teachers, and students who continue to prioritize safety on the trails and roads!

Investing in active mobility means giving space for what really matters!

Did you know that single car parking space can accommodate up to 10 bicycles? And that cycling takes up to 28 times less space on the road than driving?
➡️ These differences have a major impact on the way our cities look and feel.

When less space is dedicated to moving and storing motor vehicles, more space can become available for the things that make places enjoyable: trees and greenery, wider pavements, places to sit, playgrounds, cafés and spaces to meet.

Cycling can also contribute to quieter streets. Fewer cars and less motor traffic mean less engine, honking and road noise, creating environments where people can walk, play, talk and simply enjoy being outside.

This is a post for European Mobility Week, taking place from 16–22 September, and a reminder of the potential of active mobility to create more people-friendly cities and more space for what matters.
