Sometimes the hardest part of following God is trusting where He's leading us.

Elijah witnessed God's incredible power, yet when his life was threatened, fear and exhaustion sent him running into the wilderness.

Jonah received a clear calling from God but chose to run in the opposite direction.

Two different men. Two different circumstances. Both struggling to follow where God was leading.

And yet, God continued to pursue them.

In 1 Kings 19, Elijah experienced a powerful wind, an earthquake, and a fire. But it wasn't until everything became quiet that he heard God's gentle whisper.

**Sometimes we become so overwhelmed by the noise of life that we struggle to hear the One who's calling us.**

Maybe you're exhausted from the challenges you're facing. Maybe fear is keeping you from taking the next step. Or maybe you know where God is leading you, but you've been running in the opposite direction.

The stories of Elijah and Jonah remind us that our fear, discouragement, and hesitation don't place us beyond God's reach.

He is patient. He is faithful. And He continues to call us to trust Him.

“After the fire came a gentle whisper.” — 1 Kings 19:12

Whatever you're facing today, make time to quiet the noise, open His Word, and seek His direction.

You don't have to have everything figured out. You just have to be willing to listen and follow.

Be still. Listen. Trust His calling.

Sometimes the biggest victories come through the toughest conditions.

Two feet of mud. Rain. Snow. A hill that seemed almost impossible to climb.

After struggling through the first two rounds of the D6 Cross Country Series, Caleb found himself facing some of the worst racing conditions yet at Broom Tioga.

But instead of backing down, he kept his eyes forward, stayed committed, and pushed through the mud.

**The result? His first win.**

There’s a powerful lesson in that.

Life doesn’t always give us perfect conditions. Sometimes the challenges pile up, progress feels impossible, and everything around us seems to be working against us.

But Scripture reminds us:

“Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.” — Ephesians 3:13

The difficult seasons aren’t always the end of the story. Sometimes they’re where perseverance grows, faith is strengthened, and we learn just how much we need to rely on God.

And when victory comes, remember where the glory belongs.

“Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” — 1 Corinthians 1:31

Whatever mud you’re facing today, don’t lose heart.

Keep your eyes forward. Keep trusting God. Keep pushing through.

And if you get stuck, remember that you don’t have to get through it alone.

Sometimes you have to look back at where you started to appreciate what’s being built.

What started as a messy concrete project is now a finished walkway. It took preparation, hard work, patience, and plenty of cleanup. And while the finished product might not be perfect, it's a reminder that progress is worth celebrating.

The same is true in our lives.

**“For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10**

Every day brings responsibilities. Work to finish. Families to care for. School assignments. Challenges. Even the ordinary tasks we'd sometimes rather avoid.

But those everyday moments are opportunities to serve God and reflect His love.

Our work may never be perfect, but we serve a God who is doing a perfect work in us.

He is shaping us, preparing us, and giving us opportunities to fulfill the purpose He has placed before us.

**Don't overlook what God is building in your life just because the work isn't finished yet.**

Keep showing up. Keep serving. Keep trusting the One who created you for a purpose.

Preparation happens long before it’s time to perform.

Whether you’re getting ready to ride, preparing for a day of work, or facing whatever life puts in front of you, being ready physically and mentally matters.

But Scripture challenges us to be prepared for something even greater.

“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” — 1 Peter 3:15

As followers of Christ, we should know where our hope comes from—and be ready to share it.

Not by forcing a conversation.
Not by trying to win an argument.
But, as Scripture says, with gentleness and respect.

Know what you believe. Know why you believe it. Live in a way that causes people to recognize something different in you.

Then, when the opportunity comes, be prepared to point them toward Jesus.

What happens to your faith when life doesn’t go according to plan?

We can be moving through life thinking everything is fine—and then suddenly the bottom drops out.

Why is this happening?
Where are You, God?
Do You even care?

Those questions can come even from people with a strong faith. We won’t always understand why something happens, but those are the moments when it becomes even more important to stay tethered to God and His Word.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

Notice it doesn’t say we’ll understand everything.

It says to trust.

When circumstances don’t make sense, go back to Scripture. When you have questions, bring them to God. When the path ahead feels uncertain, stay close to the One who sees the entire road.

We may not have every answer on this side of eternity, but we can trust the One who does.

Stay tethered. Stay in the Word. Keep trusting God.
