Sometimes we’re waiting on God when God may be waiting on us to move.

The forecast says rain. The sky is the gloomy. There’s work that needs to be done. So do you sit around waiting to see what happens, or get moving until God gives you a reason to stop?

That’s a pretty good picture of life.

We just spent a lot of time waiting for the perfect conditions. Waiting until we’re sure. Waiting for every question to be answered before taking the first step.

With faith doesn’t always mean standing still.

One of our favorite prayers is:
God, let us walk through the doors you’ve opened instead of trying to kick down the doors you’ve closed.

But you have to be moving to walk-through an open door.

Proverbs 13:4 says, “ A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.”

Pray for direction. Trust God’s timing. Pay attention to the doors He opens and closes.

But don’t let uncertainty become an excuse for inactivity.

Sometimes you just need to give up and get moving.

Different bikes. Different riders. Different approach. Same destination.

With the track reversed, this jump became completely new territory. So before sending it, each rider had to figure out what worked for them.

A 125 two-stroke needs to stay in the power band.
A 250 four-stroke has more torque.
A 450 has plenty of power, but the rider still needs the right line, body position, and commitment.

Nobody approached the jump exactly the same way—but every bike had what it needed to get to the other side.

Our walk with Christ can look a lot like that.

We all come from different backgrounds. We have different strengths, struggles, experiences, and challenges. Sharing the love of Christ may look different for each of us.

But Jesus made the mission clear:

Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength—and love your neighbor as yourself.

You don’t need someone else’s story, personality, or abilities to live out that mission.

Use what God has given you. Navigate the obstacles in front of you. And wherever you go, share the love of Christ.

Different people. Different paths. Same mission.

Every season eventually changes.

Summer is winding down. The tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, and way too many cucumbers won't be here forever.
There was a time to plant them, a time to watch them grow, and soon there will be a time for the season to end.

Life isn’t much different.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” - Ecclesiastes 3:1

Some seasons are full of joy. Others are difficult and leave us wondering when things will finally change.

But that’s the thing about seasons – they change.

If you’re in a good season right now, enjoy it. Be present. Thank God for it.

And if you’re walking through a difficult season, don’t lose hope. This season won’t last forever.

Through every high and every low, God remain the same. He is still sovereign. He is still good. And he is still working even when we can’t see what the next season will bring.

Sometimes the right move is to change direction.

The track has been reversed. Familiar jumps are now completely different. Landings have become takeoffs. Berms are being ridden the opposite way. What used to feel comfortable suddenly requires a new approach, a different speed, and maybe even a different gear.

There’s a spiritual lesson in that.

In Revelation 3:19, Jesus says:

“Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.”

Repentance means more than recognizing that something is wrong. It means turning around. Changing direction.

Sometimes we’re asking God to change our circumstances while He’s asking us to change our direction.

Maybe there’s an area of your life you know isn’t honoring God. Maybe you’ve been praying about the same situation while continuing down the same path.

What would it look like to turn around?

New direction might feel unfamiliar. It might require different decisions and different habits. But obedience sometimes means leaving the familiar line and trusting God into new territory.

Change direction. Trust God. Keep moving forward.
