Service Club Chipping Challenge.

Thanks to the Coldwater Noon Club for inviting us to participate in this year’s Strawberry Fest Service Club Chipping Challenge.

Similar to their popular pie eating contest, this year participants were invited to compete in their version of “How many pink strawberry colored foam golf balls can you chip into a specified target?”

Representing Altrusa was one of our newest members, Mikayla Nill. Way to step up!!!

Demonstrating his exceptional golf skills and taking the top prize was Andy French. Well done!!!

Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary President, Angie Marsh, received an Honorable Mention for the women's category!

Thank you to the Coldwater Noon Club for organizing this enjoyable golf challenge. Looking forward to more challenges in the coming years.

CONGRATULTIONS to our ALTRUSAN SISTER……..

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Christine Delaney, executive director of the historic Tibbits Opera House in Coldwater, has been named one of the 2026 Michiganians of the Year by The Detroit News.

Delaney was selected for her exemplary leadership and tireless preservation efforts, which have allowed the 1882 theater to flourish as a cornerstone of the regional arts community.

Her award-winning oversight has guided the opera house through massive facade renovations, expanded artistic programming, and an impressive lineup of up to 250 performances a year.

The Michiganians of the Year awards, which are presented in partnership with the Detroit Regional Chamber, recognize individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to their communities and the state of Michigan.

Delaney’s ability to revitalize such a prominent local cultural hub while driving economic and artistic engagement in Branch County solidified her place among this year’s esteemed class of honorees, that also includes sportscaster Mike Tirico, U.S.A. men’s gold medal hockey player Conner Hellebuyck, Women’s hocky gold medalist Megan Keller.

Past honorees include Lions Coach Dan Campbell, Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Quicken Loans founedr Dan Gilbert, former Detroit mayor Mike Duggan, former congresman Fred Upton, and broadcaster George Blaha.

Tonight, I had the true honor of presenting the Quincy Astra Scholarship on behalf of Altrusa International of Branch County to Miss Saylor Fraley. Saylor truly embodies everything Altrusa stands for through her dedication, leadership, compassion, and commitment to serving others. This recognition is incredibly well deserved, and we are beyond grateful to celebrate her achievements. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things she will continue to accomplish in the future! Way to go Saylor!!!!
