Wow! Hadn't heard of this, anyone else?

Sources close to KCSO say that if Youngblood wins the election, he will quickly retire in 2019 so that his best buddy, a chief in the department and next in line to be Sheriff, will inherit the position. We have not been able to confirm this information.
But apparently, a vote for Donny Youngblood is a vote for someone who you're going to like a whole lot less.

. That’s only about $1,044 per household, according to The Daily Caller News Foundation’s calculations. This means powering a home with the Block Island wind farm is almost 144 times more expensive than powering a home with the newest U.S. nuclear reactor.

Unless law enforcement serves and protects all citizens of the county, lawless behavior will continue, with more frustrated landowners and residents. Attached letter from one of our followers.

So maybe this project won't happen.

So maybe this project won't happen.

Doesn't surprise us one bit. We are surprised this project isn't fenced off from public access. Turbines are mechanical devices, they do fail, they do have blades fly off, they do catch fire, and we could go on....

Funny thing about requirements for employees working around these industrial monsters, they're required to wear hard hats and safety shoes. Pretty sad, nothing will save them from this type of disaster.

Ocotillo Wind Turbine Destruction is Informative, Factual and Current. We founded this page in September 2012. We received the Sol Price Award for Investigative Photography. We are dedicated to saving rural communities from wind turbines.

Old? Not maintained? Obsolete, inefficient technology? Whatever the case, some of these should probably be removed. Pic from the local paper in June, looks like near Mojave, CA.

Got wind turbines in your view or area that haven't been operating for a long time, deteriorating and unsightly due to fire or lack of maintenance? Unless you want our county to look like Palm Springs, read the following. Kern County has municipal codes: ;)

19.64.150 - WIND TURBINE MAINTENANCE AND ABANDONMENT:

A. Except for maintenance periods, wind turbines shall be maintained in an operational condition. A turbine or group of turbines seeking, but unable to obtain transmission service or a power purchase agreement and out of service for that reason, shall be considered to be in a maintenance period provided such wind turbines are otherwise viable by general industry practices.

B. Any wind turbine not in operational condition for a consecutive period of twelve (12) months shall be deemed abandoned and shall be removed within sixty (60) days from the date a written notice is sent to the property owner and turbine owner, as well as the project operator, by the county. Within this sixty (60)-day period, the property owner, turbine owner, or project operator may provide the planning director with a written request and justification for an extension for an additional twelve (12) months. The planning director shall consider any such request at a director's hearing as provided for in Section 19.102.070 of this title. In no case shall the planning director authorize an extension beyond two (2) years from the date the wind turbine was deemed abandoned without requiring financial assurances to guarantee the removal of the wind turbine, and that portion of the support structure lying above the natural grade level, in the form of a corporate surety bond, irrevocable letter of credit, or an irrevocable certificate of deposit wherein the county is named as the sole beneficiary. In no case shall a wind turbine which has been deemed abandoned be permitted to remain in place for more than forty-eight (48) months from the date the wind turbine was first deemed abandoned.

C. If the property owner fails to remove an abandoned wind turbine within the time frame specified above, the county may remove the structure(s) at the property owner's expense and lien the property to recover all enforcement and removal costs; however, the county shall first notify the property owner of its intent to remove the structure(s) in accordance with this section in writing at least thirty (30) days prior to removing said structure(s). The county shall not issue any grading or building permits for any new development on the subject property until any such lien has been paid in full. (Ord. G-7189 § 73, 2005: prior code § 7145.13(C))

Anyone know this twit! Riding on the Pacific Crest Trail is illegal. It's a federally established trail for hikers and equestrians! He obviously cannot read nor understand a picture on a sign either; dirtbike in a red circle with line through it, pretty simple for those that cannot read.

Perhaps this is the wind project someone in Tehachapi on the Friends of Sand Canyon page eluded to???

HOW MANY OF YOU LOVE seeing our rural spaces around Tehachapi, our beautiful Tehachapi Mountains and valleys, our sunsets and sunrises, our wildlife, all the urban life and its 'pace' that drew you to this area? Remember what brought you to this spectacular area, how removed you felt from the big city life? Most of you moved from that crowded city life, crime, traffic, long lines, unfriendly people, living in the fast lane, searching for a more peaceful life. How many of you will speak up and try to protect what we have -- you all moved here for? How many can take just a few minutes to read the local paper and see what IS happening to your neighborhood, your city, your county? What your county officials (Planning Dept, and Board of Supervisors in particular) let alone the City of Tehachapi, are injecting into your livelihood? IT IS THE RULE OF THE ROOST unless you speak up, make your opinion be heard.

Have you heard or read in the news about California Condor drowning in water tanks in Stallion Springs (or maybe it was Bear Valley?) Sure you have.... they are in their historical range and looking for food and water, breeding grounds, etc. They are an endangered and protected species. Millions have been spent, in an effort by environmentalists to bring them back from extinction. YOU would be fined if you killed or injured one of them or infringed on their well-being, even accidentally. This isn't just about the Condor, what is next? What is next? Your own personal water wells, the trees on your property... what you can and can't do on your personal property, what protections you feel you should be getting from county services. What does it take to get you to think about what you moved here for? If you aren't willing to take a stand on what you love here, about what you moved her for, then move back to where you came from. It takes a community to speak up, every last persons opinion to preserve what you enjoy here. BE HEARD! Read the Board of Supervisors Agenda of all things. It takes the majority of the community to speak up, or you will NEVER be heard. If you would like links to learn more, message me here.
