This past Sunday, Father’s Day, we paused, to remember and pray for all those who experienced an unspeakable loss of life following the accident of the B-52. Sometimes, as a community we are reminded of the fragility of our lives and our need for one another. As we experience this loss, and as those that are directly affected have to navigate this unspeakable reality, we pray that we would find God’s leading and kindness and provision.
We remember that the work of The Church is not to build up the comfort and joy and safety found within four walls, but to do real life with one another. To walk shoulder to shoulder, to bare the weight of each other’s burdens and sorrows. To be the hands and feet of Jesus in and amongst real life.
We pray for peace and comfort that transcends understanding for those families today; may we be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever we find ourselves today.
