Being on the water, less than a mile from Canada, makes Algonac ripe for international smuggling. Boats, jet skis and, once, a scuba diver have cut across the invisible water border – carrying mostly people, and occasionally, guns and drugs.

⚠️ URGENT WARNING: Deadly Drug Surging in Florida

Carfentanil - a synthetic opioid 100x stronger than fentanyl - is making a deadly comeback in Florida's drug supply.

The DEA's chilling warning: "You don't know what you're taking out there. It's super dangerous."

DEA Agent Daniel Escobar: "There's no more experimenting with drugs... if you take the wrong drug, they're automatic killers."

This is now the DEA's TOP priority. Please share to save lives and watch our report below:

💔 A 14 year old boy who had been missing for weeks was found dead in Portland in what investigators believe was a fentanyl overdose. Chayton Owings who also went by “Jabber,” had been missing since March after reportedly leaving a rehab center. Authorities said he was believed to be spending time around homeless encampments near Portland before his body was discovered on May 4.

Police said preliminary findings suggest Chayton died from a suspected fentanyl overdose while the medical examiner continues the investigation. His father Benjamin Owings spoke emotionally after learning about the loss. “It’s just painful never having got to experience him in life too,” he said. Portland police described the case as heartbreaking because of Chayton’s age. Officials also warned that the tragedy highlights the growing danger fentanyl continues to pose to young people across communities.

One of MOP’s projects this year is to collect music t-shirts to represent people we’ve lost to overdose. Like the AIDS quilt in the 90s we want to help create a memorial to all our family and friends and musicians lost to overdose. The collection is slowly growing and the first place we will show it is the Reform Drug Policy conference in Detroit, November 12-15. Like the AIDS quilt we want to create a tour of these T-shirts that will end up showing them on the National Mall for International Overdose Awareness Day, August 31, 2026.
