The town of Dawt had some incredible history. It was once a bustling town where community members would meet to have their grain milled, cotton ginned and stock up on supplies. When these everyday tasks were being done you know visitors would gather to play games, music and have a good visit.

Dawt Missouri was once a small bustling village that was home to a Grist Mill, Cotton Gin, Blacksmith Shop, General Store, Post Office, Saw Mill, Church and gathering spot for area residents. The area of Dawt has had a Mill and homestead on property as early as 1866. Dawt Missouri Preservation Society was established as a way to preserve and pass on traditions and the way of life that built the once bustling community. Through Dawt's everchanging existence it has remained a staple in the surrounding community whether it be from Milling for local farmers or providing families an Ozarks getaway.
