We the People declare Thursday, September 17th a free entrance day in honor of Constitution Day! Fall is in the air at Capitol Reef as temperatures start to cool off. And what better way to ring in fall than by picking apples? We have about two dozen varieties and September is peak season for apples. Stop by the visitor center or check our website for orchard updates to learn which apple varieties are ripe and what orchards are open for picking.

Check out this link to learn if you are eligible for free entry year-round at hundreds of federal recreation sites: https://www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.htm.

We’re excited to welcome our brand-new Little Reef Rangers stuffed animals to the Capitol Reef Bookstore!

Inspired by some of Capitol Reef’s amazing wildlife, each cuddly “ranger”has its own name and story. From Rocky the bighorn sheep and Juniper the rabbit to Luna the owl, Echo the bat, Willow the mule deer, and Canyon the cougar, these soft companions are ready for adventure.

Perfect for young explorers, collectors, and anyone who loves Capitol Reef, the Little Reef Rangers are a fun way to take a piece of the park home with you.

Stop by the bookstore and choose your favorite ranger—or collect them all! 🌄❤️
We could also ship your favorite one to you. Call us at 435-425-4108
