The awards dinner is scheduled for Friday, November 20, 6:00 PM, at the Fuller-Peery building at Tazewell Fairgrounds. Please bring your favorite main dish and a side or dessert to share. Please share and spread the word! 😊

Torpedo Parents:
We are looking forward to a fantastic Association meet on Saturday.
A few reminders:
We will need timers all day-- please see Letisha Odum to sign up to time.

Coaches meet at 7:30 AM AND WARM-ups will begin soon after. Tazewell is scheduled to warm up at 8:30-- be early.

There will be a designated area (on the tennis courts adjacent to the pool) for our team to set up for the day. First time Association meet attendees-- it's a good idea to take a pop-up canopy, comfy chairs and things to do to occupy little ones. Also-- feel free to pack coolers and take snacks ( though concessions will be available).

We will practice this evening and tomorrow.

Monday, July 20 , we will have an ice-cream/pool party for the team. You don't want to miss it! We will have awards from Association meet!

Hello everyone!

Reminder that Association Meet T-shirt orders are due on Monday, with payment (if you plan to pre-order with the team). All youth sizes through adult XL are $15--2X and 3X are $17--4X and 5X are $18. Please see me at practice on Monday if you want a shirt. Also-- reminder about ads for the Association Meet program. You had an ad form in your registration packet. You may submit those directly to the Giles Jets or we can gather and send as a team.

We had a great meet at Concord the other night! Great job Torpedoes-- undefeated!

Parents-- here is team suit ordering information:

The site address is: www.swimandtri.com. Click on the button that says Team Portal. The team code is: TazTorps. Brian at Swim and Tri said it should be up and running today. Cut off for free shipping in the bulk order is Thursday 6/4 midnight. Suits can be ordered after that date; however, parents will be responsible for shipping.

Intermediate Workout

Warm up: 200 Choice of Stroke (Steady pace to start warming up your muscles)

2 X 50 Freestyle (Rest 30 seconds between laps)

4 X 25 Breaststroke (30 Seconds between each 25. Try to keep an even number of strokes. Count to make sure you are swimming the same number every time.)

4 X 50 Freestyle (30 Second Rest between laps)

4 X 25 Freestyle (30 Seconds Rest)

200 Cool Down Choice (Swim slowly and relax)

Remember to try not taking too much time between sets. 2-3 mins.should be enough time to catch your breath.

Torpedo swimmers and parents: it appears that we are NOT allowed to use the YMCA facility for team practice this week--see Beth Walker's comments on the previous post. If you are a member of the Y, I would encourage you to practice independently this week as often as you can. If you need to order a team suit, please message me and I will get the ordering information to you ASAP. I apologize for the confusion and ask that you hang in there with us until we can resume practice at Lincolnshire next week. I will keep you posted as I obtain information.

Attention Tazewell Torpedo swimmers and parents: the team will practice at the Four Seasons YMCA Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:30-7:30 (June 2-4). If there is Saturday practice, that will be announced by Thursday. If you haven't ordered a team suit, see Taffy Clifton at practice on Tuesday for ordering information.

Attention Tazewell Torpedo swimmers and parents: we do NOT have a pool for practice on Monday, June 1st. Swim and Tri will be set up at Lincolnshire, (during our regular practice time from 5:30-7:30) just outside the pool area for swimmers to order team suits and purchase swim gear. Hopefully, we will have a practice schedule for the week by tomorrow evening. We apologize for the confusion and inconvenience. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Cindy Young.
