Our Let's Move Claiborne Back-to-School Community Fun Walk was an incredible success, and it truly would not have been possible without the amazing support of our community.
Thank you to every volunteer, parent, student, and family who came out and made the evening so special. Seeing our community come together to promote healthy living while preparing students for a new school year was exactly what this event was all about.

A huge thank you to our incredible group leaders and volunteers who kept our students engaged, encouraged, and moving throughout the activity rotations. Your dedication made the event run smoothly and created a fun, safe experience for every child.
We also appreciate LIFESTAR, SMMS Cheer, Boy Scout Troops 805 & 508, Samuel Wilson, our DJ Eric Young, and everyone who helped make our opening ceremony and Storybook Trail Grand Opening (Emily Barr) so meaningful.
Because of all of you, over 100 + students headed back to school with backpacks and supplies, enjoyed an evening of exercise instead of screen time, and made memories with their families.

Honoring Mayor Joe Brooks: Event Schedule Update: Out of respect for the passing of our Claiborne County Mayor, Joe Brooks, we have made a small adjustment to the schedule for our Back to School Community Fun Walk.

The event will still be held on Friday, July 31st, but the hours have been changed to 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

After carefully considering our options, we felt this was the best way to honor Mayor Brooks and his family while still serving the many students and families of Claiborne County. Ending at 7:00 p.m. will allow anyone who wishes to attend the candlelight vigil afterward the opportunity to do so.

We also heard from several families who would not be able to attend if the event were moved to another day. We know many children are counting on the school supplies, activities, and community support this event provides, and we want to ensure they still have that opportunity.

Thank you for your understanding, grace, and support as our community comes together during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Brooks family and everyone mourning this tremendous loss. We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday from 5:00–7:00 p.m.

Its almost that time!!
-Admission is $5 for ages 3 and up.
-We have several themed events coming up this year that we are really excited about. Hints will drop soon 😉
-Swim Lesson and Senior Swim announcements coming next week.
-Please remember: No glass, No outside Food and No Running.
- We have several new employees this year. They are all trained and certified through Red Cross. We have took extra steps this year to ensure our staff is better equipped to deal with every situation.
-Come out and enjoy the new updates to the New Tazewell Pool with us.
