Tourism is a vital catalyst for economic growth. The Claiborne Economic Partnership and Visit Claiborne County work hard to produce events that bring in money to our county. We are very proud of our first ever “Pedal the Gap” event this weekend. We had 116 bicyclists from as far away as Missouri and Oklahoma who came and rode in our 20, 40, 60, and 80 mile choices that also included riding to the top of the Pinnacle!! This event took a lot of planning, hard work, and time, but it was well worth it!
We want to thank several people and hope to not leave anyone out:
Mayor Joe Brooks was part of the team to bring this event to our county. We wanted to honor that and included him on our shirts and had a booth with his picture with free, cold watermelon for the riders and volunteers. His brother, sister, and sister-in-law for their help. Jerry Brooks Jill Brooks Christina Brooks
