It’s a new month, which means a new opportunity to support local youth and conservation when you shop at the Feather River Food Co-op 🌲🛒

Throughout July, the Co-op’s Round-up-at-the-Register program is backing two fantastic community causes. We are incredibly grateful that the Quincy store is rounding up for Sierra Institute’s P-CREW!

Every single cent raised helps us provide the essential gear—including boots, backpacks, tents, and other field equipment—that makes this transformative youth conservation experience possible for local teens. 🎒🥾

Heading over to the Portola store instead? Your round-up change there will support our friends at the Feather River Land Trust’s Sierra Valley Preserve and Nature Center, funding K-12 field trips and nature-based education.

Please visit the Co-op stores throughout July and choose to round up at the register. Thank you for investing in our youth and our lands! 🙏✨

P-Crew Week 1 Highlights! Locked In.✨

Week 1 is officially in the books and the new P-CREW cohort is already doing the most. We hit the ground running, learned some invaluable skills, and honestly? Vibes are already immaculate.

Here’s a quick recap of what we got up to:

Trailbuilding 101: We teamed up with SBTS to learn the basics of trail building and got to work rehabbing some overgrown trails in Taylorsville.

Cultural Firestarting: Huge shoutout to Danny Manning for teaching us the ancient art of firestarting with a hand drill. It takes major elbow grease, but we successfully got some coals going the old way.

Camp Life & Bonding: Between starry nights and camp cooking, we spent our downtime yapping, getting to know each other, and resting up after some long days in the field. 🏕️

What’s next: This week, we are officially heading out into the field to start our project work. Time to level up!
