🪶❤️Happy International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples🌎🌍🌏.This day is a powerful reminder of the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous communities around the globe; this Includes Indigenous people from North, Central, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Pasifika. It serves as an opportunity to honor their diverse histories and the profound wisdom they offer about sustainable living and harmony with the environment. Indigenous peoples have long been custodians of their ancestral lands, and their knowledge and practices are crucial in addressing many of the world’s pressing challenges, including climate change and biodiversity loss.

Today also highlights the ongoing struggles for justice and recognition that Indigenous communities face. Despite their resilience and enduring contributions to global heritage, many continue to confront significant challenges, including land rights violations and cultural erosion. Observing this day calls for a renewed commitment to support Indigenous rights, amplify their voices, and work towards meaningful solutions that respect their sovereignty and promote their well-being. But it is also a reminder of unity, respect for each-other, and to have each other’s back.

The Native Indigenous Student Union (NISU) is located at the Taylorsville Campus in the Student Center, specifically in the SEEA Office, Room 101. NISU holds its club meetings and primarily operates out of this space. The SEEA Office serves as a vibrant hub for students, staff, faculty, and community members to foster a sense of community, study, socialize, and engage with other NISU members and the SEEA Family. The office offers various resources, including access to the Dream Center, and is also a central location for many cultural clubs.

Our advisor, Winter Rex, is also based in the SEEA Office. She is available to address any questions or provide support. We invite everyone to visit NISU and the SEEA Office, where all are welcome to join and participate in our activities.
