Just two hours of your time at the Taylors Island Volunteer Fire Company firehall on Saturday, March 7 can help you save a life. You'll learn what to do in case of sudden cardiac arrest, choking, bleeding, allergic reaction and narcotic overdose. This class is free to the local community. Just reply to this email and we'll sign you up! Please be advised that this is a basic course and a certification card is NOT provided upon class completion.

BREAKING NEWS! SAVE THE DATE:
The next Taylors Island Volunteer Fire Company Golf Cart Poker Run is scheduled for Saturday, April 27th.

This event is a cartful of fun and 100% of the proceeds go to the Taylors Island Volunteer Fire Company. The great folks from Dorchester Auto and Golf Cart Sales have confirmed that they will be there. If you don't have a golf cart they can rent you a cart and transport it to and from Taylors Island Maryland.

The Taylors Island Golf Cart Poker Run is an event in which participants visit predesignated stations around the island and draw 1 playing card at each station. The object is to have the best poker hand(s) at the end to claim great prizes. There will be a DJ, Tricky Tray, 50/50 raffle, food, Taylors Island merch for sale and lots of other fun stuff.

Save the date - the next Taylors Island Golf Cart Poker Run is set for Saturday October 14th

This time we'll have a theme - Halloween! Decorate your cart and enter it in the contest for best Halloween decorated cart. Registration starts at 11:00 a.m. at the Taylors Island Volunteer Fire Company and the Golf Cart Poker Run starts at around Noon. No Golf Cart? No Problem! Dorchester Auto Sales will be on Taylors Island Maryland to rent golf carts (you must call 410-228-5350 in advance to reserve - $50 for 2 seater, $75 for a 4 seater & $100 for a 6 seater). There will be 7 stops. There will be a 50-50 and raffles, auction & T-shirts! DJ Chucky Luv will spin tunes. The grand prize to be determined. 100% of the proceeds go to the Taylors Island Volunteer Fire Company for the purchase of a much needed new Rescue Engine/Pumper.

Thanks for all that came out today and played in the first annual golf cart poker run. It was a huge success thanks to you all. We hope to have a few of the bugs worked out for the next time. Thanks to all that helped with the stops, donations and participants.

Guess what is just 6 Sundays away - The 2023 Taylors Island Boat Docking Challenge will take place on August 27th! We can't wait to see you there! Here is a photo of a triumphant Sydney Hughes from 2019. The event takes place at the Slaughter Creek Marina and all proceeds go directly to the Taylors Island Volunteer Fire Company. Save the date of Saturday July 29th for the 1st Annual Taylors Island Golf Cart Poker Run! As you probably know, legislation was passed recently allowing golf carts to operate on Taylors Island roads (under certain conditions). What better way to celebrate this new law than having a fun time and to benefit the Taylors Island Maryland Volunteer Fire Company? All proceeds go towards the purchase of a new fire engine!
