was honored to welcome Mr and Mrs Cartwright to Patriot Point as they presented a donation from the Plymouth Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Through Mrs. Cartwright’s efforts, the organization raised $1,530 in support of our mission.

Their connection to Patriot Point is deeply personal. Five years ago, they were guests during a Marine Scout Sniper group retreat in honor of their son, SSgt. Charlie Cartwright, a MARSOC sniper who was killed in Afghanistan in 2009. We are incredibly grateful for their support and for continuing to honor Charlie’s legacy through giving back to the military community.

recently welcomed a group of 30 high school students for a service day of learning.

The South River High School Wounded Warrior Club, which raises funds to support injured service members, visited Patriot Point to learn about how we help recovering service members, their families and caregivers.

The students and two teachers spent the morning working on a variety of projects around the property, including picking up three bags of debris from the beach, stacking firewood and cleaning up the greenhouse.

“It was really a cool experience,” said teacher Josh Carroll, who is the club’s faculty advisor. “So many of our kids walked away saying it was their best field trip ever.”
