While Riegel Restoration was on site at the church yesterday, March 5, we picked up a hat that one of our fishermen must have dropped over the fall or winter. It is for a Pa. sports team. So, if you are the unlucky soul who lost it, contact us at [email protected] and we can arrange its return.

Well, February 26 is a tough one and Claude, the AI thing was not much help. Brenda Camolli was better. So here is what we all seem to agree to at this point. Take a look and see it anyone can figure out the questionable parts.

I done up the morning
work and quite a
large ironing. I cut and
sewed carpet rags.
Mother has had the ( worst)
head ache about all day.
Today was the last day
Of school they had
A very pleasant time
At the school house
Elizabeth and I went to
Als(sic) and had our fortune
Told. I am to be invited
To a party by a dark eyed person(?)
But will not expect (?) to serve
A present of a (?). Person and not
Be satisfied with my wish

Good luck on this and we will be putting up the next page tomorrow.

Well, we are into the new year and have a number of items to finish up from the past. First of all, please consider donating to the Church window fund. it can be done very easily on the front page of our website, https://taylorhistoricalsociety.com/index.html, and then you have to help us finish up on the diary of Jenny. We were transcribing the Diary of Jenny who kept it in 1869 and I must say it was a tough slog. But we have enlisted the help of Claude, an AI helper and hope you will also help.We will ask Claude to give us his determination of what is on the page and let everyone look at what he sees and what he says. Once we all decide what the page says, we will add it to the Jenny page in the Taylor Historical Society web site. For those who were not here when we started, or if you forgot, here is the pages that we have gotten done up to now.
https://taylorhistoricalsociety.com/Jendiary.html You can brush up, so to speak. The first few pages will follow later today. Good luck and thanks for the help.

A new mystery. We have a picture which has some names on the back and a date-1899, and a place Taylor River. Not a good picture but can anyone identify any of the three young ladies. Here is the front, back and an enhanced photo. One bit of information. We checked the 1900 census and did not find a Lake family or a Magr family.
Note: we found Imogene Lake(Leake) in the Taylor census. She died of Typhoid Fever in 1901.
