Come join us May 1st at Old Settlers Park in Tavernier FL for a community paddle cleanup.
We will be heading out to Tavernier Key at at 10am and will conclude the cleanup around 2pm.
FWC will be assisting with the cleanup and have vessels for offloading the collected materials.

If you have a kayak and would like to participate please bring, we have 16 double kayaks and paddles for 32 donated by FL Bay Outfitters. We anticipate running out of space prior to the event. Reserve your spot now!

Please remember to bring coral safe sunscreen, protective clothing and a reusable water bottle. No single use bottles please!

This past Saturday was International Coastal Cleanup Day and we partnered with some amazing community volunteers and companies.

In 3 short hours we removed 886 pounds of Marine debris from Harry Harris Park, Tavernier FL.
500+ pounds of plastic… lots and lots of hard work.

Thank you to the LaniKai Mermaid and the Boy Scouts from Troop 912 and volunteers who helped collect, sort and weigh the debris.

September 18th is International Coastal Cleanup Day! Come join us at Harry Harris Park between 10am and 1pm.
Community volunteers are asked to meet behind the baseball fields.
We will be practicing social distancing and recommending the use of masks.

To complete a Monroe County Covid Waiver please visit our website for a printable PDF copy.

Please bring a reusable water bottle and wear protective clothing including a hat and gloves.
We will be working along the shore and in the Mangrove Estuary.
There are lots of ropes and debris tangled in the roots.
We need your help to make a difference!

Come join us September 18th for International Coastal Cleanup Day at Harry Harris Park, 50 Beach Road Tavernier FL 33070.

We will be partnering with many great companies including Ocean Studies Charter School, Boy Scouts of America, FL Department of Environmental Protection, Upper Keys Sanitary Services, Monroe County Solid Waste Management and many more.

We will be practicing social distancing and will be encouraging volunteers to wear a mask and to stay within your party.
CWR will be meeting behind the baseball fields.

Volunteers can visit our website to fill out a Monroe County Covid Waiver.
Please return via email or bring to the Park on the day of.

We are proud to be working in partnership with Florida Department Of Environmental Protection Saturday August 21st for a Community Cleanup Event at Indian Key Fills, Islamorada FL. We will be starting at 10am and will end at 1pm.
We are looking for community volunteers, participants can register at

Volunteers are encouraged to wear protective clothing, including closed toe shoes and reusable gloves. Don't forget your sunscreen.
Please bring your own water in reusable containers. No single use plastic please.

Billions of microplastics wash up on our coastal shores with every tide change.
CWR members Jamie, Kristen and Nick collected all the marine debris from this area in Key Largo FL as the tide was on its way out revealing more pollution.
In total 132.2 pounds of debris was collected, which 105.76 pounds were recycled!

This years Key Largo 4th of July parade was amazing. We built a float from donated wood from Demo Brothers in Key Largo, the paint was donated from Sherwin Williams in Key Largo.
All decorations are MARINE DEBRIS collected by CWR volunteers.

It was the first time CWR has been in the parade and can’t wait for the next one.
