Thank you Sgt Shane Duffy 22, of Taunton, Mass.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.; died June 4 in Tikrit, Iraq, of wounds sustained in Sharqat,

Iraq, when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using small-arms fire and hand grenades. We've opened this post in honor of our local hero SGT. Duffy to pay tribute to his ultimate sacrifice. We hope that our new Post 500 will bring together a wide variety of veterans as only other veterans understand the pride, honor and commitment of serving in our fine military. We will only be successful if we have our veterans use this wonderful establishment as a place to connect with other veterans. SGT Shane Duffy Memorial Scholarship will be hosting a fundraiser for the 15th anniversary of our very own SGT Shane Duffy being killed in action this Saturday June 24 also celebrating what would have been SGT Duffy’s 38th birthday on June 22nd.

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to let everyone know that September 16, 2022 is Military Appreciation Day at the Big E. All Active-Duty Military and their dependents can get in for free. Retired Military Personnel and Veterans can also get in for free on that day.

For those who don’t know the Big E is kind of like a state fair on steroids, because it covers all of New England. It is housed out in western Massachusetts.
