Over the weekend, we were grateful to have members of the community come together to help landscape the future home of Army SPC Billy Chandler and his family. 🏡

Thank you to the incredible supporters and volunteers who joined us on Saturday in Miami, Oklahoma. Your hard work is helping create a home where the family can enjoy greater independence, comfort, and accessibility for years to come.

We can’t wait for the day we welcome them home and celebrate the beginning of this exciting new chapter together.

Billy Chandler joined the Army in 2004 to carry on his grandfather’s legacy of military service.

This weekend's pre-race festivities at featured a special moment as Army SPC Ignacio Arriaga was presented with a Toyota Sienna BraunAbility wheelchair-accessible van ahead of the Bank of America 400 Cup Series.

We were honored to be part of this life-changing presentation. The new van will provide Ignacio with greater independence, mobility, and freedom as he navigates daily life.

Homes For Our Troops is proud to participate in the campaign in partnership with Toyota Racing USA, BraunAbility and TRICON Garage. Through this initiative, six Toyota Sienna BraunAbility wheelchair-accessible vans will be provided to HFOT home recipients, made possible through a generous gift from longtime philanthropists Johnny and Terry Gray, which fully funds the mobility component of the initiative.

🎉Congratulations to HFOT Veteran Navy CPO Julius McManus for his incredible performance at the World Para Athletics Cali Grand Prix in Colombia!

Among 350 athletes from 25 nations, Julius was one of 11 athletes that proudly represented Team USA and brought home a Gold Medal 🥇 in shot put and a Silver Medal 🥈 in javelin. His achievements contributed to Team USA’s impressive fifth-place finish!

We’re so proud of Julius and can’t wait to cheer him on at his next events coming up in DC at the Army Ten-Miler and the Marine Corps Marathon.

When Army SGT Michael Gower returned home from Iraq with life-changing injuries, everyday family moments became difficult. His home wasn't built for accessibility, limiting where he could go and what he could do with his son, Alexander.

That changed in 2019 when Mike received his specially adapted custom home from Homes For Our Troops. With a barrier-free layout and accessible features throughout, Mike can move freely, spend more time with his family, coach baseball, cook alongside his son, and enjoy activities they once struggled to do together.

Today, the Gowers give back by volunteering at Homes For Our Troops events and sharing their story with supporters and future Veteran families. "We like helping people understand what Homes For Our Troops does because we've seen the difference it makes," says Mike's son, Alexander.
