Did you know that our Director of Family Support, Heather Baylies-Grigoreas, hosts a monthly parent & caregiver group at our office called The Breakfast Club? Check out these photos from this month’s group where we enjoyed a spooky themed breakfast & welcomed guest speakers Isheeta Chakrabarti, Esq. from Sheehan & Associates Law & Leila Johnson from Cornerstone Financial Group LLC. Many thanks to our guests for sharing their knowledge about future planning for our loved ones.

And also, special thanks to our Director of Individualized Supports, Jacob Anderson, for preparing our breakfast of pumpkin pancakes, mummy wrapped sausages, and tombstone yogurt parfaits.🎃 🥞

The 2026 DDS Children's Autism Waiver Program Open Request Period will be held from October 16, 2026, through October 30, 2026. Please use the link below to access information and to submit an Open Request Application.

The Autism Division of the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) administers the Children’s Autism Waiver Program (AWP) which provides one-to-one interventions to help children diagnosed with autism who exhibit severe behavioral, social and communication challenges through a service called Expanded Habilitation, Education (intensive in-home services and supports). This service occurs in the child’s home or other natural settings under the supervision of trained clinical staff and is available for a total of three years. AWP also provides related support services such as community integration activities and respite. At the conclusion of the three years of intensive services, a child may access supplemental services that meet the child’s needs and help with the transition out of the intensive AWP until the child’s 10th birthday.

Puritan Lodge and OES Pilgrim Chapter 89 chose a non-profit/charity, each year, as the recipient of funds from their Trunk or Treat event. They have chosen CAR as the recipient this year!

This event is a lot of fun! Mary Fox, our Co-Executive Director, entered her "Trunk" in last year's event, and will be doing the same this year!

Additionally, they have a great raffle at the event that they have opened up online this year as well, for those who may not be able to attend but would still like to participate!

The raffle is LIVE today and will close on Friday, October 23rd.

Our own Justin Sousa, GAP staff member and Direct Support Professional, and Sam Babineau, Assistive Technology Provider, participated in the recent Halloween Reading Night hosted by Trescott Street Gallery and the Downtown Taunton Foundation & Taunton Business Improvement District . They read a super spooky story to guests and stayed for Halloween trivia. Can you spot our other Community Autism Resources staff and families who also came to support Justin and Sam and join in the fun festivities?

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Hayride at Oakdale Farms Country Barn and Garden Shop 🍂 🎃
It was such a fun night filled with hayrides, food, s'mores, and lots of laughs! A special thank you to the Rehoboth Cultural (Mass Cultural Council) for partially funding this event and making it possible!
