Congratulations to our 2023 performing arts scholarship recipients Allison Dorsey and Carrie Sullivan! During the COVID 19 pandemic we were unable to give funds to graduating seniors who were pursuing the arts. We are grateful to be able to give back to those students who lost so much of their high school experience due to the pandemic.
Allison Dorsey is currently a musical theatre major at Carnegie Mellon University. To her, the stage has always been a space where she can shine. Her compassion for others and drive for storytelling makes her a perfect candidate for our scholarship.
"I have fallen in love with the craft not for the reward of getting to take a bow, but finding the character inside the role I'm permitted to play"
Carrie Sullivan is a music therapy student at the University of Rhode Island. The opportunity to award her this scholarship is special, because she was one of Meaghan's dance and theatre students. The work she does emulates Meg's spirit and tenacity and she would be so proud to see the work Carrie is doing today.
"In my music theory practicum, I use music to help children with wide ranges of disabilities including autism and down syndrome to achieve academic, speech, and emotional regulation based goals"
We are so proud to honor these young students with this award, they are bound to do great things ✨
