Please join us for our first Reflection Circle next week. We will be holding it at 7 pm on the evening that the Derek Chauvin verdict is announced. (Note that April 15th is a placeholder, and the verdict may come after Monday) In the event the verdict is expected during the time we are meeting, we will watch it together.

After a brief introduction re: ground rules for the Circle (which will be a variation of our Story Circle rules), we will reserve space to hear from our BIPOC brothers, sisters and siblings first - and then move on to reflections from other members.

In these turbulent and gut-wrenching times, we will be affirming our commitment and connection to each other. If you're not currently a WNB member, please RSVP for the event on the page below. Zoom invite details will be sent out on the day of the event.

UPDATE: Our Tarrytown Human Rights Group petition in support of the creation of a Human Rights Commission was delivered to the Board of Trustees this week - and the trustees discussed it briefly during their work session last night. They committed to further discussion of the proposed commission at a future work session - possibly their next work session, although the exact timing is currently known.

Several trustees expressed some reservations about the petition - specifically the lack of addresses included from people who signed it. Since the petition was created on the Change.org platform, there was no way we could have included this information.

But as a result of the concern raised by some trustees, we are asking EVERYONE who signed the petition to fill out and submit a new form in support of the HRC proposal. It should take no more than a minute of your time - and it is a crucial step in showing the trustees that there is wide support for a human rights commission or committee in the village.
Please show your support by visiting the new form below.

Thanks!
