WK Preservation Group WK Preservation Group is a 501(c)(3) non-profit created to protect slices of paradise - small, natural tracts of land- in Pinellas County.

Hopeful news for the Stevenson Creek Advocacy Group - S**G They have worked so hard to raise their issues to the right folks. Please show your support!

UPDATE! Our proposed Manatee Protection Zone has cleared a major hurdle. FWC provided positive feedback, and indicated no additional data is needed. City staff praised S**G's documentation and supporting materials. Once revisions are completed and approved by FWC, the ordinance will move to City Council for consideration and adoption.

Pinellas County could soon get federal help again to protect its beaches after years of going it alone 👀

Truly David versus Goliath:’ Pasco community fends off development plan

In a unanimous and surprising vote after hours of emotional testimony, the St. Leo Town Commission blocked a proposed 620-home development on the Abbey golf course property, handing residents a rare victory against large-scale growth in Pasco County.

The 4-0 vote May 13, with one commissioner recusal, denied transmittal of a comprehensive plan amendment that would have cleared the first legal hurdle for Mohr’s Crossing, a proposed community of 440 single-family homes and 180 townhomes on the 289-acre golf property across County Road 52 from Saint Leo University.

The decision marked a major victory for Saint Leo University and local residents who said the project would permanently alter the town’s unique character.
