At first glance, it looks like a group of students enjoying a day outdoors.

But look a little deeper…

They’re exploring.
Observing.
Asking questions.
Learning from the world around them.

Experiences in nature give students the opportunity to turn curiosity into discovery. As they explore together, they practice communication, cooperation, patience, and respect. Not only for one another, but for the living world they share.

CHE reminds us that learning doesn’t have to stay inside the classroom. When children connect with nature, they begin to understand that they are part of something bigger. And that their choices can help protect the people, animals, and environment around them.
