A brand-new photography gallery is opening in New Kensington, and you’re invited!

The gallery will feature photography by:

Fred Doerfler – President of the Pittsburgh Photography Club
Joel Varga – President of the New Kensington Camera Club
Stu Chandler - Board Member of both camera clubs

Stop by early if you’d like to beat the crowd or can’t make the evening hours, because Studio 30 will be open starting at 2 PM, two hours before the rest of the building’s main reception begins.

🎨 A FULL EVENING OF ART AT ALUMINUM CITY ARTS

The entire ACA facility will also be hosting an Open House from 4–8 PM, celebrating the opening reception of “Exposed Cerulean Affair” at The Manos Gallery, an exhibit exploring artistic interpretations of the color blue.

While visiting, be sure to explore the other creative spaces inside the ACA building, including these fine spaces sponsored by fellow members of the NKCC:

• Studio 24 and Dek the Walls Photographic Designs – operated by NKCC member Lenny Boyd
• Two Visions Art Gallery – by James Sabulsky and Donna Weckerly (both NKCC members)
• Alloy 13 Artisans – an artist collective headed by James Sabulsky
• Tri-City History Museum - also headed by James Sabulsky

The building has quickly become a new hub for creativity in the Alle-Kiski Valley, bringing together photographers, artists, designers, and local history under one roof.

⸻

Come support your fellow photographers and artists, tour the new space, and enjoy an afternoon and evening of creativity and inspiration.

Fifteen years ago, on February 20, 2011, a simple vision took shape when our President Emeritus Don Henderson, alongside his son Shane and the late Gary Sprague, founded the New Kensington Camera Club. What began as a shared love for photography has grown into a vibrant, thriving community of passionate photographers, dedicated learners, and creative friends.

Over the years, the club has become more than a place to talk about cameras and images—it has become a haven for creativity, encouragement, and artistic growth. Through exhibits, workshops, photo walks, and countless shared moments behind the lens, our members have built lasting friendships and a legacy of visual storytelling that continues to enrich our community.

As we celebrate 15 years, we honor the vision of our founders and the many members who have carried that vision forward. Here’s to the memories we’ve captured, the creativity we’ve nurtured, and the exciting journey still ahead for the New Kensington Camera Club!

On Veterans Day, the NKCC had the privilege of honoring our Vets by providing on-the-spot portraits for members of the VFW Post 92 in Lower Burrell. What a rewarding feeling to know we touched hearts by such a simple gesture of appreciation for their service.
