National 4-H Week 2026 is October 4–10! 🍀

Youth, volunteers, families, alumni and supporters in North Carolina will join 4-H communities across the country to celebrate the impact of 4-H and how young people are Beyond Ready for college, careers and life.

Two nationwide days offer special ways to join in throughout the week:

💚 Go Green | Monday, October 5
Wear green, show your 4-H pride and join 4-H communities across the country in going green!

❤️ Thankful Thursday | Thursday, October 8
Take time to recognize the people, experiences and opportunities that make 4-H possible and share what you’re thankful for in your 4-H journey.

Horseman's Youth Day is hosted by the NCSU Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners at Reedy Creek Equine Farm in partnership with the NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Event details:
- Date: September 19th, 2026
- Time: 8am- 4pm
- Location: Reedy Creek Equine Farm, 5100 Reedy Creek Rd, Raleigh, NC 27607
- Ages: 6-17 (activities adjusted based on experience)
- Cost: $100 per child
- Lunch and snacks are provided

Youth will get hands-on experience with local equine veterinarians and NCSU CVM students and faculty, covering topics like anatomy, emergency care, lameness, hoof care, and more.

It's time for a new theme for our Crop This! Photo Contest! 📸

This month's theme for the contest is "Agriculture at the Fair." Photos for this theme can include past fairs, like county fairs and the N.C. State Fair.

Photos can be sent by email to [email protected]. Include your name, county and a brief description of your photo. The deadline to submit photos for this category is September 15th!

The winning photo of the month will be featured in an upcoming issue of the Ag Review and on our NCDA&CS social media channels. Each month's winner will also be considered for the 2026 Crop This! Photo of the Year. The Photo of the Year winning photographer will receive a prize pack of NCDA&CS and Got to Be NC goodies!

We have been absolutely blown away by the interest and support for our 2026 Edgecombe-Martin 4-H Sporting Clays Fundraiser! 🙌

We previously announced that all team spots were FULL, but because of the incredible response, we’ve decided to make a change!

To help accommodate more teams and keep the event moving efficiently, we will now be utilizing BOTH the front course AND the back course at Rose Hill Preserve. 🎯💥

That means we can now add more teams! 🙌
