We’re excited to welcome everyone to the Essex Memory Café tomorrow, Wednesday, March 25, from 1:30–3 PM at Java Jack’s Café, 504 Church Ln, Tappahannock.

Join us for a warm, welcoming afternoon of conversation, fellowship, and support. Memory Cafés are a relaxed space for individuals experiencing memory loss—and their care partners—to connect with others who understand the journey.

Our regular meetings will be held on the 4th Wednesday at 1:30 PM. The event is organized and hosted by trained facilitators. RSVP is not required and there is no cost to participate.

Older Adults Home Modification Program – Now Available!

Bay Aging is offering low cost, high impact home safety modifications to help older adults live safely and independently at home.

This HUD funded program can assist with improvements like grab bars, railings, better lighting, walk in showers, and more.

You may qualify if you:
✔️ Are 62 or older
✔️ Own or are buying your home
✔️ Meet HUD income guidelines
✔️ Need home safety upgrades to support daily tasks

Essex County-Tappahannock TRIAD and Bay Aging hosted a successful Bingo game for local seniors, providing pizza and organizing a free lunch, bingo, local donated prizes, and information on local resources. We appreciate Stanley Clarke for calling the Bingo numbers and the local businesses that donated, including Serenity First Hospice , Domino's Pizza, Subway in Tappahannock, Bella’s Pizza and Bay Aging. More than 40 seniors enjoyed the event and had a great time together.

Our Special guest was Mrs. Lucy who turns 107 next month. We were so happy you joined us. When asked what’s the secret to a long life, she states,”just keep going.”
