Taos Historic Museums

Taos Historic Museums We preserve the history and heritage of Taos at our two museums — Martinez Hacienda & the Blumenschein Home.

The Taos Historic Museums aim to promote the history, heritage, and cultural arts of Northern New Mexico through education and preservation of our unique historic structures and collections. We are the Martinez Hacienda and the Blumenschein Home & Museum. We display many of our wonderful historical artifacts. We aim to educate the public on their importance, and the importance of Taos history. We

offer many events, such as: the annual Fandango amd Old Taos Trade Fair, as well as gallery openings.

Hard work pays off.

Today, staff from New Mexico School for the Deaf came together for a team building retreat at La Hacienda de los Martinez — with an adobe making workshop led by Daniel Barela and Mateo Clarke.

Thanks to CASA-Community Alliance for Sustainable Adobe for making it happen. 🧱

For artist Laurie Celine Balliett, "Spirit of Place" is about more than landscapes. To Balliett, the mountains, rivers, wildlife, and architecture become part of a larger story about the essence of place and home.

Those ideas are at the heart of Balliett’s solo exhibit, featuring ~20 paintings that invite viewers to experience Northern New Mexico through Balliett's eyes.

Join us for an opening reception with the acoustic duo Marcella Skogen on vocals and Wayne Massi on guitar.
