The Town of Taos Events is proud to sponsor Community Against Violence's 3rd Annual Back-to-School Event and warmly invites families throughout our community to join us for a fun-filled day of activities, resources, and back-to-school support.
Friday, July 24, 2026
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Don Fernando Hall
120 Civic Plaza Drive
Taos, NM
Community Against Violence, along with its community partners, will provide FREE backpacks and school supplies to students in need, helping them begin the new school year with confidence and the tools they need for success.
In addition to receiving school supplies, families can enjoy a variety of free activities, including friendship bracelet making, coloring, sticker making, bubbles, a scavenger hunt, raffles, free hair trims, library card sign-ups, and much more.
Be sure to visit the many community organizations that will be on hand to share valuable programs, services, and resources, including Brown Rice Internet, DreamTree Project, Holy Cross Medical Center, Taos Behavioral Health, Taos News, Taos Public Library, Taos Ski Valley, Town of Taos Events, Town of Taos Police Department, Tru Kids 1, Twirl, U.S. Forest Service, Youth Development, Inc. (YDI), and Youth Heartline.
We especially thank the businesses that generously donated items in support of this year's event: Centinel Bank of Taos, Cid's Food Market, Humble Brands, and Phoenix Mechanical. Their generosity helps make this event possible for local students and families.
While you are there, be sure to stop by the Town of Taos Events booth! We would love the opportunity to visit with you and your family, share information about our upcoming community events, and provide you with a FREE giveaway bag with school supplies while supplies last.
This free community event is a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with local organizations, enjoy fun activities, and prepare for the upcoming school year. We hope you will join us as our community comes together to support local students and celebrates a successful start to the new school year.
We look forward to seeing you on July 24!
