Taos County Economic Development Corporation (TCEDC)

Taos County Economic Development Corporation (TCEDC) TCEDC's mission is to “support the food, land, water and cultures of the people of Northern New Mexico.” TCEDC was founded in 1987.

TCEDC, a 501(c)3 has operated for over twenty years utilizing a family model in its community development efforts to address challenges. The model builds upon the strengths and wisdom of land-based cultures that have demonstrated the ability to survive and overcome adversity by retaining beliefs and values and recognizing the inevitability of cycles. Social justice issues are at the core of all ac

tivities, programs and projects. Our mission to “support the food, land, water and cultures of the people of Northern NewMexico.” TCEDC has focused on: maintaining equity and ownership for land-based people, overcoming poverty, and providing access to education, business and other sector opportunities. In this historically agrarian region, the Food Sector represents an appropriate, relevant, and viable economic opportunity as well as a means to hold on to tradition, culture, and quality of life. The marginalization of this rural community and its ties to agriculture has fueled TCEDC’s efforts to demonstrate that sustainable “livelihoods in agricultural and food-related enterprises are vital and successful strategies for limited resource food producers, particularly women and people of color.”

The Quivira Coalition, Holistic Management International, and the American Grassfed Association collaborate each year to convene ranchers, farmers, conservationists, land managers, scientists, and thought leaders to share knowledge, build community, and create a culture of resilience and regeneration.

This year we are excited to explore the intersections of ecology and economy through the lenses of agriculture, science, conservation, economics, racial justice, policy, and culture. Leading up to our conference, we will host a month-long series of events including a virtual workshop week and field days throughout the western US. These events will culminate in REGENERATE 2022, our hybrid conference that will take place November 2-4, 2022, in person at the National Western Center in Denver, CO and online for virtual attendees.

Join us at REGENERATE 2022 as we co-create a vision of working together to foster restorative systems and implement practices that better serve our planet and our communities. We invite you to contribute your energy and ideas to the conversation at this year’s convening, Cultivating Restorative Economies.

If interested in attending the conference, please send an email to [email protected] and put in the Subject Line Quivera Regenerate Conference. This is a great opportunity and I would love to send a couple of people to this conference.
