The kittens have entered the chat, and apparently they brought all their friends. 🐱💬

So far this year, Stray Hearts has welcomed 362 puppies and kittens under six months old. These tiny newcomers account for more than 60% of our total animal intakes!

They may be small, but their needs are mighty: nutritious food, vaccinations, medical care, warm beds, attention, and safe places to grow.

Tomorrow, the Taos community can help us continue going the extra mile for them during the Stray Hearts KNCE Radio Fundraiser!

Scrappy is a 10-month-old puppy with two goals in life: get all the love and cause just enough chaos to keep things interesting. 😂

He’s still learning the ways of the world, but one thing he already knows for sure is that he LOVES people. Give him some attention and he’ll happily become your new best friend!

Scrappy is just a young pup looking for someone who will show him what a loving forever home feels like. He’s got plenty of puppy energy, a whole lot of personality, and an even bigger heart. ❤️

Meet the voices behind the second chances. 🐾

On Wednesday, August 26, Stray Hearts is taking over the airwaves with foster families, adopters, volunteers, staff members, board leadership, and community partners, all sharing how Taos County is working together for its animals.

You’ll hear personal stories of fostering and adoption, learn what happens behind the scenes in medical care, discover the many pathways animals take out of the shelter, and hear how local partnerships are preventing suffering before it happens.
