PSA PhilBreak Expands For 2020... multiple sessions, lower cost, more activities, airport and Amtrak shuttles.

The 2019 PhilBreak was an exciting, rewarding, exhausting, satisfying week of give-back and contribution to Philmont. Assisting with the 2018 Ute Park fire recovery efforts, PSA members returned to the Ranch this past March to perform timber stand improvement (TSI), slash pile burning, and general debris clearing.

In 2020, PSA members will have 4 Sessions to again help Philmont with the 2018 fire recovery.

Dates
Session 1: February 29th–March 7th
Session 2: March 7th–March 14th
Session 3: March 14th–March 21st
Session 4: March 21st–March 28th

We had a fantastic time bowling with the college students who were home for the holiday. It is wonderful to see that they are still mentors to our younger scouts.

"Fortunate to be on a trek in ’09 and ’11, a PC at Dean Cow in ’13, and a first-time donor during the fires of ’18, I can proclaim that Philmont has opened my eyes to the outdoors. Nothing is quite as special as thorns, buds, and roses after a grueling day or the high after summiting Baldy. As a crew with sore feet and happy hearts we learned perseverance, compassion, strength, wild beauty, grit, and joy. Nestled in Dean Cow Canyon with 8 strangers, we became family as we mastered the climbing ropes and bonded over bite-bite-pass during late night lantern lit conversations on life. Philmont has given me so much: friendship, accomplishment, reflection, focus, and faith. Please join me on November 27, Giving Tuesday, as we give back to a place that has given us so much!"
