Bells will be ringing, and with that lessons to be taught! Our partners , took the time for an educational retreat today. The gentleman at FRM Co wanted to see the bee operation and how we utilize their mushroom blocks. They were astonished with each side of the operation. This past Wednesday, we got see Dr. Jay Evans and told him all about this partnership. He laughed at the coincidence of just talking to Dr. Paul Stamets not too long ago too. Dr. Evans relayed encouraging words and to inform our partners today, stoked the flame. It takes a community to be successful and this week has reiterated that! Never Stop Beelieving, you can accomplish anything!

Oh the places you'll go, especially when you share the Love. His Excellency Iztok Mirošič, the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, invited us to attend the World Bee Day Celebration today! sLOVEnia is the only country in the world with the word love in it! They share a passion of Honey Bees unlike any other country. Today they showcased that love with a talking panel with Slovenian and American experts. Followed by a networking reception afterwards, which was nothing but exhilarating. It was an honor to share the importance and impact honey bees can have on an individual. The Mayor of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, was impressed with our knowledge of the AŽ hive and the impact it can have on individuals. It was truly an honor to discuss with our friends and world diplomats, the impact honey bees can make. Always remember Never Stop Beelieving!

Happy Memorial Day, from the Mission Beelieve Team! While most of us get the grilled fired up, let's not forget why we celebrate today. The Men and Women of this country laid their lives out for us, to rejoice in our freedoms. Even if you don't agree with their actions, these men and women would serve over and over again. Why, just to protect the freedom of the people of the world. We're so concerned about ourselves, we forget why we're doing everything. Today is about those men and women who bared the heaviest toll for Us. Thank you for your commitment and sacrifice. Thank you to the families, carrying the weight of their sacrifices. Without your selflessness the world could be very different place.

What's cookin, good lookin! Read all about it, on the front page of the Baltimore Sun next Monday! was introduced to us and from there a partnership came to fruition. The story will be about unique partnerships, and you might be wondering how mushrooms and bees benefit each other. FRM Co's goal was to regenerate soil with their spent blocks but they did their homework and saw which mushrooms benefit honey bees too. They grew a variety called Red Reishi specifically for its potential medicinal properties for the bees. Those blocks are placed in water troughs and soon to be buried in the soil for the bees to collect. They also provide other mushroom blocks that are used for the soil which in turns feeds our plants. And we all know, Flowers feed the bees! Bees are fascinating and teach us to look under our feet. If you get low enough you'll see a whole new world filled with fungi and other life! The night concluded with the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary visiting for a tour. The group came out to see the impact of the program, which wrapped up the day perfectly. Now it's time to spread our roots and impact more lives!

Ándale! Ándale! Arriba! Arriba! Yeehaw! The day whizzed on by just like Duster1, blowing by the farm. We completely forgot to take pictures of making Nucs, that are being sold. We encourage our partners to start nucleus colonies for sustainability. Nucleus setups are a fraction of the price of a full set up. Require almost 50 percent less than a full set! Just like the Project Talon autonomous aircraft! Nucs are also efficient when correcting issues and effective when trying to earn extra money before honey sales. As Nucs are sold now, that money can be applied towards honey jars, equipment, or honey extractors. Keep in mind though, every Nuc sold is five frames lost. Might not seem like a lot but it can creep up on you. Sustainability is everyone's goal, and raising nucleus colonies is pertinent in your Operations. You'll never know where your little Nucs will carry your operation, just like Project Talon aircraft!

What a spectacular day today at Carroll County's Fifth Annual Veterans Celebration! There was never a dull moment around the entire celebration, it was filled with camaraderie. Even though we're all our own entities, we're one big family! As you walked around everyone was hugging, reminiscing on the good times, and rolling in laughter. The best moments are never caught on camera! Nonetheless the Veterans Celebration achieved it's goal of honoring our veterans' community and their families! Thank you Carroll County Government for all your efforts!

One lump or two your majesty? Today Maryland State Beekeepers Association hosted their Queen Grafting class at the farm. Queen Grafting isn't just a sustainable way to replace or expand colonies, it's a great way to learn Colony Biology. Bee Math is very significant when preforming colony inspections. It can prevent swarming or allow you to gauge when you should add the next hive body on your growing colony. It also allows beekeepers a chance to really inspect a frame without hundreds of bees running around. You can see an egg, larvae, and maybe a new emergent bee. It definitely allows you to grip your head around things. It doesn't matter how old you are, beekeeping keeps you young forever bc of the countless experiences. Just like how you go from class to catching a swarm. Then looking at queen cells, gauging which one is the best/oldest and sadly squishing the rest to prevent after swarms. First swarm of the season, but not his first! Our partner Travis started this journey catching a swarm and now he has greater appreciation after learning Queen Grafting class. Thank you again, Maryland State for awarding two seats for our Partners to participate amd expand their journeys in beekeeping.

What a whirlwind of a day, but that didn't stop us from noticing the flowers! We were inspecting an apiary when we received a text our order is ready for honey jars. Even in the rush to get to Lancaster we noticed something with the trees.... In our apiary in New Windsor not a single locust tree in bloom. Meanwhile at the MB farm trees were blooming and as far north as Southern Lancaster we noticed locust blooming. This is a key detailed on why joining local organizations is crucial. The trees are booming a few weeks earlier, and the micro climates play a key part as well. Knowing your local area can ensure you have a successful season. Now the real question is, are you apart of your local beekeeping organization?

Happy Earth Day Beelievers! Remember one sweet act towards the Earth, can make a lasting impact. It might sound silly, but it's true, and beekeepers singlehandedly do that everyday! By keeping our ladies healthy and strong, it allows plants to get pollinated and spread naturally! Today is just a reminder that an act of sweetness can make an impact. No matter how small or large, just like Honey Bee and their Beekeeper!
