ALERT 📢 PTA supports inclusive schools and a focus on inclusive history.

The Hillsborough County school board has a meeting on Tuesday, October 17, at 4 pm at 901 E. Kennedy Blvd. to vote on a proclamation regarding LGBTQ history.

In prior years, LBGTQ proclamations have been adopted unanimously but this June, Dr. Stacy Hahn voted no and Patty Rendon abstained even after Jim Porter told her she had to vote.
The other members each voted to adopt the Pride month proclamation.

It’s possible that the LGBTQ History Month proclamation will receive the same treatment. If you want to speak about the LGBTQ History Month proclamation at the meeting, please sign up here:

LGBTQ+ and ally teachers needed to share stories of how their lives have been directly  affected by the passing and implementation of HB 1557!

Both teams are preparing cases against this legislation. If you want to be involved, email both contacts to share your stories. Tell them you were referred by Katie Wood, and you would like to be apart of this mission. They will reach out regarding further steps.
