Please join us in welcoming Chrissy Howard to the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA as our new Senior Executive Director for the Bob Sierra Family YMCA/Camp Sierra!

Chrissy brings more than a decade of YMCA leadership experience and a strong background in operations, wellness, membership development, philanthropy and community engagement.

Most recently, she served as Vice President of Operations with the YMCA of Central Florida, providing leadership for four family centers. Her YMCA journey began in wellness and personal training and has grown into a career focused on building strong teams, expanding programs and strengthening connections with members and communities.

We’re excited for the experience, leadership and passion for the Y mission Chrissy will bring to Bob Sierra Family YMCA/Camp Sierra.

For Chris Stino, the Y has been part of his story since childhood.

Now, as a Mary W. Sierra Family YMCA board member and Wesley Chapel resident, he’s helping make sure the Y can be part of the story for families in his own community.

The equipment is moving in 🙌

Another round of progress is happening at the Mary W. Sierra Family YMCA. Fitness equipment is now being installed, finishing touches are underway in the locker rooms and work continues on the pool.

It’s exciting to see these spaces transition from construction plans into the places where our members will soon work out, swim, connect and spend time together!

Please join us in welcoming Christopher Johnson to the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA as our new Vice President of Community Partnerships!

Christopher brings more than 20 years of experience in philanthropy, corporate partnerships, fundraising, nonprofit leadership and community engagement.

Most recently, he served as Community Investment Lead for The Mosaic Company, where he guided the company’s U.S. community investment portfolio and developed partnerships with organizations across Tampa Bay.

In his new role, Christopher will help us continue building meaningful partnerships that strengthen our impact and the communities we serve.

Every visit looks a little different!

More pieces are falling into place at the Mary W. Sierra Family YMCA. The exterior signage is going up, and the gym floor is looking ready for its first game.

There is still work happening behind the scenes, but it’s exciting to see more of the details that will make this Y feel like home starting to appear.

Karissa’s journey with the Tampa Y began in 2023 as a counselor. Since then, she has continued to grow within the Y, advancing to Program Coordinator and now Program Director.

Her dedication, servant leadership and passion for supporting children and families have made an impact throughout her time at the Y, and we’re excited to see her take this next step.
