To celebrate the start of summer, United Way Suncoast hosted a special Summer Kickoff Event at Sulphur Springs where campers enjoyed story time, picked out books to take home and received bags filled with goodies.

More importantly, their support helped make camp more accessible for families, giving more children the opportunity to spend their summer in a safe and supportive environment filled with learning, encouragement and new experiences.

We are incredibly grateful for community partners like United Way Suncoast who help open doors for children and families across our community.

We’re so excited to announce that Andi (Marlow) Cornett will be joining the Mary W. Sierra Family YMCA as our new Membership Director! With nearly nine years of dedication to the YMCA, Andi has played a huge part in building warm, welcoming spaces where everyone feels at home. Her passion for helping others and her vibrant energy have touched so many lives through camps, youth programs and community events. We can’t wait for our Wesley Chapel family to meet Andi and see the wonderful impact she’ll bring!

The first week of camp at the Tampa Y is officially in the books and it’s safe to say our campers are already having an unforgettable summer 💙

From exciting activities and outdoor adventures to new friendships and nonstop fun, campers spent the week making memories, building confidence and enjoying everything summer camp has to offer.

We’re so proud of our Tampa Y Swimming Masters (TYSM) team for their amazing effort at the 2026 YMCA National Masters Meet back in April! The team secured an impressive 11th place finish with 457 points.

Special shoutout to Christina Campfort, Chrstina Thompson, Emily Dammer, and Sharon Taylor for taking home 1st place in the Women's 200 Yard Medley Relay (ages 35-44)! Way to go, TYSM!

Tampa Y lifeguards are ready for summer!

Recently, lifeguards from across the Tampa YMCA came together for association-wide training focused on safety, preparedness and saving lives.

Throughout the day, guards participated in skill evaluations and hands-on learning while also reviewing real-life emergency scenarios and the importance of reacting quickly and correctly in high-pressure situations.

At the Tampa Y, water safety is always our top priority and we are proud of the dedicated lifeguards who work every day to help keep our community safe this summer.

Summer adventures have officially started at the Tampa Y!

Over the weekend, camp counselors from across the association came together for a full day of training and preparation ahead of an exciting summer.

From leadership development and team building to safety training and camper support, our counselors spent the day learning how to create a fun, safe and memorable experience for every child at camp.

We are excited for campers to experience a summer filled with friendships, adventure, confidence and lifelong memories!
