This last Sunday, we were so excited to be invited to join the Tampa Bay Sun Professional Women's Football Club for their Noche Latina Hispanic Heritage Night! This last week has been a whirlwind of Mobile Museums honoring and celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and the rich and wonderful Hispanic culture of Ybor and Tampa! We were invited to visit both USAA locations in Tampa for their Hispanic Heritage celebrations, and we have partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Tampa once again at the opening of their special exhibit at the Tampa Bay History Center. And that was just the start of our week! Keep an eye out for more posts about the other amazing events we went to recently!

On Friday last week, we sent out Baseball Guys with our Rollin' Through History Mobile Museum display to the Tampa Bay Housing Authority to share the history of baseball in Tampa in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month!

Thank you to our amazing community partners for helping us preserve and celebrate Tampa’s baseball history! We had two wonderful Mobile Museum visits in one day last week!

First, we saw our friends at the West Tampa Chamber of Commerce! We loved hearing Mayor Castor speak and showing our traveling museum setup to so many community members!

Then after that, we headed over to the Tropicana and celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with our friends at Tampa Bay Rays. They were having their annual MLB Roberto Clemente Day celebration in honor of the Hall of Famer and 15-time All-Star player.

Last week, we were so pleased to have the Jesuit High School Baseball - Tampa team come to the baseball museum to celebrate their recent State Championship and all of their accomplishments. The players, their coaches, and parents also got to speak with Jesuit Alum and Major Leaguer, David Magadan.

We also awarded Coach Miguel Menendez a certificate for complimentary visits to the Tampa Baseball Museum for one week each year for all students, coaches, faculty, staff, and alumni. Allowing them to learn more about Jesuit's important place in the history of baseball in Tampa Bay.

We had a wonderful time earlier this week at the Centro Asturiano's “When the Centro Asturiano Played Ball” lecture. It was a lovely evening talking about and sharing baseball history with community members and other baseball historians.
