A runner in a long distance race can begin with great anticipation and excitement. Things can take a shift mentally and physically as he progresses in distance. He deals with fatigue and solitude as the crowd is no longer heard cheering and all the pack of runners are dispersed as they advance toward the finish line. If he is not careful, negative thoughts of, "why am I doing this?" or "I am just not sure I can make it" or "It doesn't matter if I finish anyway", can bombard his mind due to the stress on his body. However, it is the runner that has learned to motivate and encourage himself to press on and continue forward that will accomplish goals; for, he has learned the disciplines it takes to conquer obstacles and obtain success. He is the one who understands he is running for the greater prize... the prize of personal accomplishment that he found within himself to be one who plans, puts into action, and accomplishes those goals! Whether or not he came in first place or not, his victory that he found within himself was that he does have determination, motivation, perseverance, focus, and an indomitable spirit!
Greatness is created and birthed from within. I encourage you today to fight negative thoughts that combat your mind and replace them with positive motivating thoughts. Then put those thoughts into action. Stir up momentum from within you that has been there from the beginning and transform potential energy into kinetic energy! Go forth and make things happen! Watch how God, in His perfect timing, takes you from mediocrity to GREATNESS! Success is waiting on YOU!
