Tampa Sister Cities

Tampa Sister Cities To promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation—one individual, one community at a time. Tampa Sister Cities Committee, Inc.

is affiliated with Sister Cities International which was formed during President Dwight D. Eisenhower's administration. The purpose of Sister Cities was, and still is, to involve people and organizations at all levels of our society in personal diplomacy. Incorporated on July 12, 1967 as a non-profit corporation and defined in its articles of incorporation as a membership organization to foster be

tter international understanding and cooperation through Sister City relationships. The strength of an active and solid relationship between cities in the U.S. and abroad rests within a local committee and its volunteers who are willing to commit time, talent, and resources to develop and implement mutual exchange projects and programs with partners in another country. It is important to decide on a course of action from the affiliation's initiation and to implement the plan in an organized manner. Citizens of Tampa who have a desire to become directly involved with another culture and want to share their culture by linking with a community in another country can join the Tampa Sister Cities Committee, Inc. and participate in the many affiliations' activities.

🇫🇷 Happy Bastille Day! 🇫🇷

What an unforgettable evening last Friday, celebrating Bastille Day alongside community leaders, military representatives, elected officials, and friends from across the Tampa Bay region.

We were honored to collaborate with the French American Business Council of West Florida, UFE, FRAMCO, and the US CENTCOM French Detachment to host this special celebration recognizing the enduring friendship between France and the United States. Events like these remind us of the power of international relationships and the important role cultural exchange plays in bringing communities together.

From exceptional French cuisine and meaningful conversations to celebrating our shared history and partnerships, the evening was a true reflection of collaboration, diplomacy, and friendship.

Tampa and Agrigento continue to strengthen a friendship that has connected our communities for more than three decades. The recent meeting between Mayor Jane Castor and Mayor Michele Sodano highlighted the importance of cultural exchange, heritage tourism, economic cooperation, and the lasting bonds between Sicilians and the Tampa Bay community.

Thank you to Vince Pardo and Mario Plazza for their leadership and dedication in helping foster these important connections and ensuring the success of this visit. Your efforts help transform international relationships into meaningful opportunities for our communities.

The World Cup begins today with Mexico vs. South Africa — a powerful reminder that sports are more than competition.

At Tampa Sister Cities, we believe sports diplomacy creates opportunities to exchange culture, build friendships, and connect communities through shared passion.

Today, I’m proud to represent our Mexican Sister City of Veracruz and Friendship City of Acapulco, while we also look ahead to building new connections with South Africa.

From Tampa to the world — let the games begin. ⚽🌎

Tampa Sister Cities is proud to share the official launch of TIDES — the Tampa International Diplomacy and Exchange Summit.

For decades, Tampa Sister Cities has worked to build international understanding through people-to-people relationships, cultural exchange, education, and civic connection. TIDES grows from that same mission.

This new summit is being created to bring together the many individuals, organizations, institutions, businesses, and communities already helping connect Tampa to the world.

TIDES will focus on five connected areas:

Trade. Innovation. Diplomacy. Education. Sustainability.

Through these tracks, the summit will create space for international partners, civic leaders, universities, entrepreneurs, cultural organizations, nonprofits, and community members to build relationships, share ideas, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

We are excited to help lead this effort and to work with partners across Tampa and around the world to make TIDES a signature international gathering for our city.

Follow the TIDES page for updates on speakers, delegations, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteer opportunities, and cultural programming.

The tide is rising.

Explore how cities, businesses, ports, chambers, and international organizations are creating new opportunities through trade, investment, and cross-border collaboration. Sessions will examine global commerce, economic partnerships, supply chain connectivity, and the role international relationships...

Our first night in Barranquilla set the tone for an unforgettable visit.

We gathered at the iconic La Cueva with civic and cultural leaders for a tour, dinner, conversation, and live music celebrating the spirit of Barranquilla. The evening was generously sponsored by Ivonne Alvarez of RealNet Brokerage and Alfred Goldberg of Absolute Marketing Solutions.

Following dinner, we enjoyed a special night of music, including a guest performance by Veronica Venegas Fernandez.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make our first evening in Barranquilla so meaningful:
