✨ What a night to remember. ✨

Last Tuesday evening we had the privilege of hosting the Century Club Party — a celebration of the buildings that define who we are as a community, and the people who fight to keep them standing.

From The Tampa Theatre to Tampa Union Station, from The J.C. Newman Cigar Factory to The Lee Building (home to The Archives and our very own Century Award winner 🏆), the evening was a living testament to why historic preservation matters. These aren't just old structures — they are the soul of our urban fabric, the anchors of our neighborhoods, and the irreplaceable witnesses to Tampa Bay's story.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us: our honorees, our partners at Tampabay Community Design Center and every advocate in the room who understands that the past is not behind us, it is all around us.

None of this would have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors:

Thank you for believing in the region's history and helping us celebrate it in style.
Historic preservation is for everyone. Every building saved is a story kept. 🏛️

Introducing… The Century Club

TCDC wants to joyfully recognize the structures that have survived countless adversity—from hurricanes and termites to zoning changes and decades of changing tastes—and to honor the beauty, longevity, and unique identity these places bring to our community.

To be eligible for inclusion, your building or house must be built in 1926 or earlier … and that’s all. There are no detailed preservation standards. We think it is remarkable that your structure has survived this long, and we believe it is worth celebrating.
To help launch the new program, we are inviting the first 50 applicants to a kick-off party.

The work comes as the building, last renovated in the ’90s, was seeing signs of wear and tear from termite damage, water leaks. Everything is designed historically to maintain the building’s historic status.

With the project underway, the 50-year-old Tampa Bay Community Design Center offers a behind the scenes hard hat tour timed with the arrival of Amtrak’s Floridian line from Miami.

Led by Brandie Miklus, President of the Friends of Tampa Union Station, along with the contractor Collage Company, the tour will be followed by an optional happy hour.
