What if dystopian films aren't predicting the future but reflecting the present?

'The School Duel' uses a dystopian lens to explore feminism, power, and the choices that shape society, proving that film can spark conversations long after the credits roll.

Which dystopian film has changed the way you think about the world?

The best characters aren’t always the ones we love.

Sometimes, they’re the ones we love and hate at the same time.

And maybe the reason they stay with us is because they make us see a little bit of ourselves.

Let’s talk about why complexity matters in storytelling. Catch the full version on youtube with .

What if the stories we're told won't resonate are the ones audiences need most?

Tell the story anyway.

I used to think balance meant somehow holding everything perfectly at once. Now I think it means understanding that life flows.

Sometimes you step forward. Sometimes you step back. Sometimes a dream has to wait but waiting doesn’t mean giving it up. Trust the season you’re in.

Save the date!

AMERICAN FABRIC is screening October 14 in House 3 at the Tasveer Film Festival — and we’ll be there! ✨

Hope to see you in the audience.!

An all-female head of department and cast is incredibly rare in the film industry but we did it right here in Florida.

Our short film American Fabric features an all-female Florida cast and crew, bringing a powerful lens to women's agency and shared experiences.

Living, working, and raising families in Tampa gives us the unique opportunity to understand and learn from the beautiful tapestry of people in our community.

What kind of stories do you feel are missing from modern cinema?

10/02/2026

The stories that leave a lasting impact come from people who show up as their authentic selves.

What's one quality about yourself that you've learned to embrace over time?

Seattle, we’re coming!

We’re so excited to bring AMERICAN FABRIC to the Tasveer Film Festival and finally share this story with you. ❤️

See you at ! 🎥

Popcorn, PJs & Women In Film - pretty much the perfect night!

NY/LA Production was so happy to host WIFT’s Popcorn & PJs Night at CinéBistro - an evening to relax, connect, laugh, and celebrate the incredible community of women who make this industry what it is. A huge thank you to Sheer for such a wonderful event space and making the evening possible!

Because sometimes building community doesn’t happen in a conference room. Sometimes it happens in pajamas, with a bucket of popcorn, surrounded by women who inspire, support, and show up for one another.

Here’s to more connection, more collaboration, and more women creating together!

The WIFT Grant Winner Showcase was an evening dedicated to celebrating achievement, creativity, and the incredible work being created by women in our film community. A huge thank you to CinéBistro at Hyde Park for hosting us!

We watched films. We celebrated wins. We connected with fellow filmmakers, creatives, and industry professionals. And most importantly, we were reminded why spaces like these matter.

At NY/LA Production, we believe opportunities grow when we show up for one another - when we celebrate each other’s milestones, share resources, build relationships, and create rooms where more women can tell their stories.

Congratulations to all of this year’s grant winners and filmmakers. Here’s to the stories already on screen and all the ones still waiting to be made!
