DeMolay Florida mourns the loss of "Dad" Wilbur Dale Dietzman.
"Dad" Dietzman lived a life of service to the Order of DeMolay. A Senior DeMolay from Paul Revere Chapter, he earned the RD, BHK with 1 star, PMC-MSA, and was elected to receive the Degree of Chevalier in 1970.
As an Advisor, "Dad" Dietzman was honored with the Cross of Honor in 1983; Active Legion of Honor in 1985; Honorary Member of ISC in 2006; Knighthood Grand Cross; "Dean Emeritus" for JBU; and was made an Honorary PIKC. In 2019, he was elected to the DeMolay Florida Hall of Fame. He served as our State Chapter Dad from 2005 to 2009, and was serving DeMolay Florida as Director of Awards and State Historian at the time of his passing. His efforts as State Historian are reflected in our thorough historical indexes in our annual proceedings.
"Dad" Dietzman was a proud Vietnam Veteran, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy, after 26 years of combined Active and Reserve duty service. A proud Master Mason, he served as Master of Pompano Lodge No. 263 in 2007.
"Dad" Dietzman made a profound impact on several generations of DeMolays, Sir. Knights, Advisors, Sweethearts, and with all whom he came in contact. His love for DeMolay was evident and he took it upon himself to personally carry out the motto of our order: "No DeMolay shall fail as a citizen, as a leader, or as a man."
DeMolay Florida extends our sincere condolences to his wife, Jayne, son Ralph (a Past State Junior Councilor), and granddaughter Alexis.
