Our Junior Chefs had an AMAZING time in class today 👩🏽‍🍳👨🏻‍🍳✨
From big smiles to hands-on cooking, today was full of fun, learning, and delicious success!

Today’s lesson? The famous Cuban Sandwich! 🥪🔥

But here’s the FUN twist we learned… 👀

🇺🇸 It didn’t come from Cuba!

That’s right! The Cuban Sandwich was actually created right here in Tampa, Florida — by Cuban immigrants who brought their flavors and built something new in America!

Our kids LOVED learning the history while making their own authentic sandwiches!

Technique Tuesday is here, and our Junior Chefs are in for a treat.

Tonight’s class features a Michelin-style recipe: Whipped Lemon Cream with Fresh Berries.

Students will explore how flavors work together, learning to identify and balance tartness and sweetness while creating a beautifully plated dessert.

This is more than a cooking class. It’s hands-on learning through our Culinary STEAM Program, where students build skills in:
• Science
• Math
• Reading comprehension
• Culinary techniques
• Creative presentation

Class Time: 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM

What an incredible class today at Junior Chefs of America!

Our young chefs didn’t just cook — they leveled up their skills. Today’s technique was SCORING, and they learned how chefs use precision cuts to enhance flavor, texture, and presentation.

But we didn’t stop there…
Our students also explored food science, discovering how acid reacts with balsamic and how it transforms flavors right before their eyes. Real cooking, real learning, real confidence in the kitchen.

This is what makes Junior Chefs special — we combine hands-on cooking, science, and life skills all in one experience.

Today, our Junior Chefs traveled to France… without leaving the classroom.

In our JCOA Culinary Program, students don’t just cook — they experience the world through food.

This week’s lesson focused on French Galettes, where students explored more than just a recipe.

At JCOA, we have 5 Programs that make up
ONE GREAT SCHOOL. Today’s program was our JCOA Culinary Classes. Where we teach STEAM as we travel around the world in Culinary Cuisine. In this program we focus on one of these areas:

• Science – understanding how heat transforms ingredients Techniques - learning special techniques to leverage & elevate that dish
• English – following structured culinary instructions
• Culinary Arts – presentation and creativity
• Math – measuring and portioning accurately

This is STEAM education through hands-on culinary experiences.

This Saturday, our young chefs are celebrating Valentine’s Day with Bahamian Chicken Pineapple Boats—a sweet-and-savory dish served in a real pineapple! Kids will chop colorful veggies, cook chicken, and explore island flavors while cooking with creativity and care.
