We've Hired!

Welcome John!
The Tampa Bay Conservancy has contracted with an independent consultant to assist us in fundraising and outreach. The consultant is Vanguard Public Affairs LLC; specifically their managing partner, John T. Fox. He has both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Florida and fifteen years of experience raising large dollar donations. He has worked in non-profit and for-profit, public and private, and political fundraising for over fifteen years.

A Florida native, he knows Florida’s conservation and development landscape and has many personal connections in the Tampa Bay area. TBC is thrilled to have him on board.

The Tampa Bay Conservancy is seeking the services of a consultant to advance the mission of the Conservancy through community outreach, fundraising, and the development of new conservation opportunities. The consultant will demonstrate the ability to engage with major landholders within the community, as well as collaborate with community groups and government agencies to expand conservation options in partnership with the Conservancy. Fundraising efforts will include grant writing, increasing sponsor base and organizing fundraising campaigns. The applicant will oversee the organization’s website and social media accounts, as well as participate in educational opportunities in the community.

The consultant will work independently and report directly to the Conservancy President or designee.

Preferred qualifications include a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of ten years of responsible experience in the fields of conservation work, natural resource management, land management or a related field. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to work independently in facilitating conservation opportunities in the community. The applicant should be able to demonstrate experience in the field of fundraising and promotion of organizational objectives through social media platforms. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are mandatory.
