2026-27 JOHNSON SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
Student Accessibility Services is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 Johnson Scholarship for students with disabilities.
Applications for the 2026-2027 academic year are due by May 1, 2026.
Newly admitted students are eligible; however, a student must have an active U-number and Net ID to apply.
To be eligible for the Johnson Scholarship, a student must:
- Have a documented disability; applicants do not have to be registered with USF Student Accessibility Services (SAS)
- Be a FL resident for USF tuition purposes
- Have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher; applicants who do not yet have a USF GPA may use the GPA from the most recently attended institution.
- Be an undergraduate working on the first 4-year undergraduate degree
- File a 2026-2027 FAFSA application with USF Financial Aid
- Enroll in a minimum of 9 hours each fall and spring semester (or be approved for a reduced course load accommodation through Student Accessibility Services.)
To apply, complete an online New Applicant Application by 11:59 PM on May 1, 2026, and submit:
- A FAFSA application through USF Financial Aid
- A personal statement (500 words about student’s achievements, activities, career goals, and how the disability(ies) impact(s) student’s goals)
- Two letters of reference (one letter may be an academic reference addressing your academic success and potential
- One letter may be a personal reference; references should not be from an individual who is related to the candidate.)
- An official copy of a transcript or, if already enrolled at USF, a print out of USF Degree Works showing course work and grades
