“Walking into the elementary school where I would be interning, I was very nervous about what kind of environment I would be spending so much of my time in for the next year. However, as soon as I bumped into Carlos, one of my guard techs from the previous USF winter season, I was both shocked and incredibly reassured. Knowing that I would be spending the next year in the same school as someone I already knew to be such a caring and wonderful person, immediately put me at ease within the new environment I was in. I had always been told throughout my years within the Color Guard and Winter Guard at USF, that the connections you make through these programs can reach and last farther than you expect. However, I had never truly experienced that for myself until that moment, and it was such a sweet reminder that these connections I have made through USF guard can follow me into parts of my life in ways I would have never expected.”
